Oasis of Enlightenment

Aloha Beautiful People,

I recently returned from an enlightening trip to Hawaii that took me deeper into my lomilomi training. I learned not only new techniques, but also learned more about the spirituality and rich culture of Hawaii

I love staying on the North Shore, when I am in Hawaii because of the country atmosphere and beautiful scenery. My 1st full day on Oahu, I went stand up paddling in Haleiwa. I always feel intoxicated by the nature when I’m out there. As I was paddling, I set the intention; I was open to receiving people for my highest good to come into my life. It was interesting to observe how this intention came into play during my trip.

Every morning I would walk to Sunset Beach and take in the landscape and finally find a place to sit and meditate on the beach as the waves crashed in the background.

My trip was not only about training and learning techniques; it was about spiritual growth and learning about Hawaiian culture. I met with the people of the foundation where I learn lomilomi to attend a Hawaiian blessing. One moment I was a guest, going to watch my first blessing and the next moment; I was putting a robe on as a participant in the blessing. I was handed a lei, we formed our line and we were off. It was beautiful to watch the family, grandmasters, teachers and students pay their respects to their sensei of the martial arts studio being blessed.

It is hard to put in words everything I did and learned on this trip. The trip was enlightening. I went deeper into my lomilomi massage learning new techniques and more about the spirituality, which goes with it. If I had to sum up my trip in 3 words: positivity, purpose and peace.

I spent 5 years working at Bryan Kest's Power Yoga and now I want to create the space to follow want is truly speaking to me.

It was hard to juggle lomilomi sessions and working a regular job so I had to choose. Hawaii has become a second home to me.

As I was driving past Wamiea Bay, I thought to myself I am home. Hawaii is the place where I feel grounded, centered and content.

One of my favorite things to do in Hawaii is: to walk to the beach or the bike path in the morning.

I do not have the same joy walking the beaches in California so it is something I always look forward to when I am in Hawaii.

I couldn’t wait to go to Manoa and see my teacher and the other people I have met through lomilomi.

This trip, I connected more with my guide, the foundation and being a lomilomi giver.

I have the genuine desire to help. Some of you might know I had an intuitive thought on a plane to learn lomilomi.

I followed the thought and now I am fully immersed in lomilomi.
